🔥 Hot or Not

🔥 HOT One more potential upside of AI (to counter the doomsayers): New research suggests machine learning could soon play a key role in identifying those at risk of significant cognitive decline during menopause. “Early identification of high-risk persons may allow for targeted interventions to protect cognitive health,” says Dr. Stephanie Faubion, MD, the medical director of The Menopause Society.

👎 NOT In her new memoir, Brooke Shields opens up about a deeply troubling experience during a labia-reduction surgery intended to alleviate chafing. Without her consent, her gynecologist also performed a vaginoplasty—aka vaginal rejuvenation surgery or tightening.

While an extreme case, it underscores an important point: doctors should *always* involve you in decisions about your health—whether big or small. At Midi, we believe your voice is central to your care. Before recommending any treatment, we take the time to explore all your options, listen to your preferences, and craft a personalized Care Plan that aligns with your goals and personal approach to health.

MENO NEWS

When estrogen drops, bone density can too. Now, a draft recommendation from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) advises screening postmenopausal women younger than 65 who have one or more risk factors for osteoporosis, including low body weight, family history of broken hips, smoking, and heavy drinking.

The best way to determine if you have low bone density is to have a bone density scan (DEXA scan). Not sure if you’re due for a DEXA? Midi can help with that. We stay on top of your bone health, prescribing testing when needed and offering evidence-based solutions that help prevent—and even reverse—bone loss.

On top of that, sleep became a struggle and I experienced unbelievable weight gain that seemed impossible to manage despite my efforts. I felt tired and miserable most days.

Thankfully, I sought out expert help with Midi and found a solution. For me, the answer has been non-hormonal medications and diet changes. My advice to other women? Don’t give up.
