At Midi, we often recommend vaginal estrogen for dryness and itching, painful sex, UTIs, urinary urgency, and incontinence.
Now a new study suggests the benefits may extend even further. Among nearly 1.9 million women with recurrent UTIs, those prescribed vaginal estrogen had significantly lower rates of sepsis, hospitalization, and even death.
More research is needed, but it's an encouraging sign that this low-dose treatment may be doing more than easing symptoms. That's especially important considering only about 1 in 4 women with recurrent UTIs have ever been prescribed vaginal estrogen.
If you’re dealing with down-there discomfort, book a visit with a Midi Clinician to discuss getting started with vaginal estrogen.

“If something feels off, don't wait.”
- Krista E., Midi Patient
|
Even though I'd been postmenopausal for a few years, I just didn't feel like myself. I was struggling with anxiety, brain fog, migraines, painful vaginal dryness, and my blood pressure and cholesterol were high. I felt stuck because my own doctors refused to prescribe estrogen simply because I wasn't experiencing hot flashes.
When my younger sister-in-law was offered HRT by her gynecologist with no pushback, my frustration peaked. I found Midi on Instagram, did my research, booked a visit, and was seen within two days.
I was prescribed a protocol of estrogen, progesterone, and vaginal estrogen, and the shift was incredible. Almost two years later, I'm off blood pressure medication, my cholesterol is back in range, my brain fog has lifted, and sex is no longer painful.
Midi looked at my whole picture instead of dismissing me. My message to other women: If something feels off, don't wait—advocate for yourself.
