“My menopause journey started way earlier than I expected.”
- Marissa W., Midi patient
|
Menopause wasn't even on my radar. I had night sweats for years, but blamed the down comforters. And I assumed my low libido was because of my Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI) and the weight gain was due to my diet. But when a blood test showed I had primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) and was actually postmenopausal at age 34, everything clicked.
Instead of explaining the results and what to do next, my doctor referred me to a fertility clinic. I sought out a new OB/GYN, who answered all of my questions with "hormones are unpredictable.” Frustrated, I kept looking and found Midi.
My clinician actually understood what was happening. After a bit of adjusting, we landed on a combo of meds that are helping my symptoms: a vaginal ring, transdermal gel, and an IUD. When I found my new OB/GYN (who I needed to see for the IUD), I felt prepared to advocate for myself.
