Let’s face it: No one prepared us for midlife. The hormonal roller coaster? The reality of how your body changes in your 40s and beyond? It was never talked about—or worse, it was actively avoided by friends, family members, and even your doctors.

Consider Midi the teacher you needed but never had. When you book a visit, you don’t just get a Care Plan tailored to your symptoms. You also get answers to questions like: Why am I waking up at 3 a.m.? Is it normal for my ear to be this itchy? Where did my libido go—and is it coming back?

Midlife needs Midi, so book a visit today and be sure to bring your questions, even the awkward ones. Because understanding your hormones isn’t extra credit, it’s essential.

Ask a Midi Clinician

Kathleen Jordan, MD

Midi’s Chief Medical Officer

Q:

“Is it safe to wear my HRT patch in the hot tub?”

A:

In full spring break mode? Here’s what to know before you soak: The heat from the tub can increase blood flow to the skin, which may temporarily affect how much medication your body absorbs from a patch. So if you’re a regular hot tub user, it’s worth talking with your Midi clinician about whether a non-patch option might be a better fit.

If it’s just an occasional dip on vacation, you’re likely fine to carry on as usual—absorption changes aren’t typically significant enough to affect your treatment. And no, your patch won’t just peel off and drift away—it’s designed to stay put, even in hot water. If it does happen to come off, simply apply a new one to the same area.
