If you’re suddenly dealing with killer cramps, period changes, or pain during sex in your late 30s, 40s, or beyond, it’s easy to assume: This must be perimenopause.

Often that’s the case. But not everything is perimenopause. One other cause could be endometriosis—a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus.

The tricky part? The two can look a lot alike:

If similar symptoms are disrupting your life, book a Midi visit. Our clinicians take pelvic pain seriously and are trained to recognize endometriosis. If needed, we can refer you for further evaluation with an OB/GYN in your area.

But keep in mind: Hormonal shifts during perimenopause can temporarily worsen endometriosis symptoms. If you’re navigating both, we can collaborate with your doctor to make sure your Care Plan addresses each condition.

“Midi saved my lifeseriously.”

- Michelle M., Midi patient

I started experiencing symptoms in my late 40s: fatigue, muscle pain at night, and strange, small areas of muscular twitching. I had no clue it could be perimenopause. I went to my primary care physician for help, who did the usual labs and put me on birth control and an antidepressant.

My symptoms didn’t improve. In fact, they only worsened. I began experiencing crushing social anxiety and had suicidal thoughts, which were really scary. I knew something had to change.

Luckily, I came across Midi on Instagram. My clinician not only listened, she saved my life—seriously. A week after starting HRT I noticed a huge change in my moods. Two weeks in, I cried to my husband, "I am feeling back to normal!" Now I recommend Midi to everyone I can.
