Of all Midi patients, 87% deal with weight gain and body changes during perimenopause and menopause. If you’re looking to drop a few (or more) pounds, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may help. While it’s not a weight-loss drug, HRT can make it easier to lose weight by easing midlife symptoms that interfere with healthy habits. Better sleep, more stable moods, and fewer hot flashes can make it easier to exercise consistently and prepare nourishing meals more often.
Now, a new study shows that combining HRT with the GLP-1 medication tirzepatide may enhance results even further. In the study, postmenopausal women who were overweight or obese and used both treatments lost an average of 17% of their body weight—compared with 14% for participants using tirzepatide alone.
Curious whether this approach could work for you? Book a Midi visit to discuss whether HRT or a personalized GLP-1 prescription—or both—could be the right fit for your midlife weight journey.
