A simple (but not always easy!) movement—the sit-rise test—may offer powerful insight into your longevity, suggests a new study. Researchers observed how easily middle-aged adults could lower themselves to the floor and stand back up without using their hands, knees, arms, or other support. Then, the researchers followed up with them 12 years later. The findings? Those who could sit and stand unassisted were significantly less likely to die prematurely, particularly from cardiovascular causes, than those who needed support.
This test taps into strength, balance, flexibility, and coordination—all key markers of how well we're aging. It’s easy to try at home (just pick a safe spot, please). But no matter your score or your age, Midi’s new AgeWell Visits can help you stay strong and independent for years to come. Book a visit today for a personalized plan to support your long-term well-being. |

I went to two different gynecologists and my PCP to only be told either it didn’t sound like perimenopause or that I had to wait until I didn’t have a period for a year to get any kind of HRT. Then I came across someone on social media that recommended Midi.
At the first visit, I knew I had found my people! My NP actually listened to everything I was experiencing. We went over all of my symptoms, and she validated that what I was experiencing was in fact, perimenopause. I was so relieved to have someone listening that I actually cried.
